And finally "out out"

As much as I love cooking I also love eating out as do my friends, I have been reviewing restaurants all around the world for years on other sites, so I thought I would add to my own blog instead.

To start with the reviews are only likely to be local until I can finally properly get out and about, some of which I would have reviewed before but it will be interesting to see if lockdown and all of the covid rules have changed the service or atmosphere.

Like everyone over this last year I have really missed eating out with my friends.

So when one of your closest friends birthdays just happens to be during the week the rules changed, and we could finally go inside and eat rather than sitting outside enjoying the glorious British weather, it would have been rude not to go out to dinner wouldn't it?

After the initial shock of wearing make up for the first time in months and finding some clothes that actually squeeze myself into I was ready to go.

The place of choice https://elbardetapas.com/

I have been here with different groups of friends and the food in the past has always been amazing.

The rules for social distancing and wearing masks are clear both on the website and when you walk in, you are shown to your table by a member of staff and they explain them again to you.

I sat down in a nice booth in the newly extended dining area while I waited for my friends to join me. It was busy as always in there which was nice to see.

I noticed that new to their drinks menu there is a selection of Vegan options, although not joining us that night one of our friends is Vegan and we are always looking out for places that cater for her requirements.

Also they have prosecco on tap as we were celebrating I may have had 1 or 2.

I have eaten tapas at a few different places sometimes I find that there are too many options or that the menu items are too fussy its hard to know what you are eating.

In comparison here they explain when you walk in how it all works, you order 3/4 dishes per person and they all come out as and when they are ready, they are easily set out on the menu.

We have chosen 4 per person before and we couldn't manage it between us so knew this time to go for 3 as my friends all like to have their desert.

We chose a selection of dishes, most of which came out all at the same time.

There was something for everyone

Now I am not a big fan of seafood the beauty of Tapas meant I could try some things I haven't tried in a while without the commitment of buying a whole dish, I even tried some calamari and goats cheese, which were nice but did not sway me to be a great fan.

As always the range of dishes did not disappoint and there was nothing at the table not eaten, I would highly recommend, the chorizo in red wine, anything halloumi is a winner with me.

The girls all had the churros for desert.

The service as always was friendly even though they were very busy, kept on top of things and the dishes came out very quickly.

I know I will return to El Bar Tapas again soon, it is becoming a favourite of ours.
